Office Visits

Five Points Dentistry is not your typical dental office. It's more like a spa - for both adults and children! From our streaming water wall to our floor-to-ceiling sierra-like scenery, you'll feel warm and welcome the minute you walk through the door.

The kids love our brightly colored play area with a tropical fish tank and Nintendo Wii as well as PS2 game system, and plenty of prizes for the "No Cavity Club." That's not all. The core of these spacious surroundings is the state-of-the-art technology that allows us to give you and your family the most advanced care possible. With 6 fully equipped operatories, digital imaging, intraoral cameras and so much more to offer, we've made getting the perfect smile a perfect experience.

At Five Points Dentistry, we believe it's time you looked forward to coming to the dentist. We'll turn your dental visit into an unforgettable trip.

Our dentists are proud users of the CEREC system making crowns, inlays, and onlays in a single visit. We also offer Pola in-office whitening systems.

High quality dental care and patient comfort are our goals. We are committed to helping you achieve the best possible dental results in a comfortable and friendly environment.

You should have a comprehensive dental and periodontal examination regularly, which includes a thorough examination of your teeth and gums. We use the findings from our examination to formulate a complete diagnosis and comprehensive treatment plan for you.

Recommendations for treatment are explained at a consultation time set aside specially for you. The consultation can take place at the initial appointment or can be scheduled as a separate appointment at Dr. Pavicic's or Dr. Thomas' request. Our goal is to ensure that you receive the best possible information concerning your treatment options. Our time investment in patient education enables us to render the best possible outcome for your dental treatment.

A smile that's straight, bright and white isn't something you have to dream about anymore.

Your First Visit

Your first visit to our office typically includes an x-ray that allows Drs. Thomas and Pavicic to view the structure of the jaw, the position of any teeth that have not yet erupted, malformed roots, and tooth decay.

The initial visit also involves getting your medical history. When you share your medical history, be sure to provide complete, up-to-date information on your health. Inform Drs. Thomas and Pavicic if you have experienced recent hospitalization or surgery, or if you have recently been ill. Also tell us the names, doses, and frequency of any medications you are taking — whether prescription or over-the-counter products — and the name of your physician. Inform Drs. Thomas and Pavicic of any changes in your health or medications. This information will help Drs. Thomas and Pavicic select the safest and most effective method of treatment for you.

Regular Checkups

We encourage regular checkups for individuals age four and up. Most people find that it is valuable to have a checkup at least every six months so Drs. Thomas and Pavicic can:

  • Check for problems that you might not see or feel
  • Find early signs of decay
  • Treat oral health problems early, while they are still manageable

Regular checkups include a thorough cleaning, polishing, and an oral exam by the doctor. During the oral exam, Drs. Thomas and Pavicic check the health of your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks, and tongue. At each visit, Drs. Thomas and Pavicic also check old fillings and restorations because constant pressure from chewing, grinding, or clenching can cause them to wear away, chip, or crack.

Regular checkup appointments typically take 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
